Many garage coatings are thin single coat products that wear quickly near the door and under the tires. We install a Military Specification (Mil-Spec) coating system with a heavier build, and it’s worth asking every contractor what system they plan to use.

What to Expect Throughout Your Epoxy Garage Flooring Install
Most Imperial Beach epoxy garage flooring jobs are done in a single day, since many garages here are small. We still pencil in a backup day for slab repairs. On the day, we clear the floor, protect the walls and door trim, and begin grinding.
Inspection
Once the grind and repairs are finished, we inspect the slab. Next comes the epoxy base, a full chip broadcast, a scrape to remove loose flakes once it cures, and a polyaspartic clear coat to seal it.
Dry Time
Walk on it after about a day, and park after about two. Fog and cool nights can slow the topcoat, so we’ll give you the exact time before leaving.
Next Morning
The finished floor won’t yellow, it resists oil and brake fluid, and sand sweeps right off. Mop it with warm water and a little dish soap. If the garage gets wet a lot, we can add anti-slip texture to the top coat.
