For Santee Homes, Exceptional Epoxy Garage Flooring Starts Here

Santee garages hold a lot more than cars. With Mission Trails on one side and Santee Lakes on the other, they fill up with mountain bikes, kayaks, camping gear and fishing poles, and the floor underneath takes the mud, water and scraped pedals that come home with them. That’s a lot to ask of bare concrete, and a lot less to ask of epoxy garage flooring.

Many homes here were built in the 1970s and 80s, and newer neighborhoods like Sky Ranch keep adding more. Old slab or new, we grind it, install a Mil-Spec coating system, and back the bond with a lifetime adhesion warranty.

Nu Garage & Epoxy has been in business since 2005 under its original owner, and Santee is an easy drive up the 52 from our shop in Ocean Beach.

A Veteran Owned Crew Close to Miramar

The company is a family business with veteran and first responder owners. Nathan Obermeyer founded it in 2005, and with MCAS Miramar just west of Santee, plenty of our customers here come from military families too.

Your floor is installed by family members and long-time technicians. We don’t subcontract the work, and nobody on the crew is on commission.

Most Santee garages can be quoted in a short phone call. Tell us the size and access, and we’ll give you a guaranteed price.

How Our Epoxy Garage Flooring System Enhances Durability

Our system is thicker than a typical garage kit, and it holds up to the gear that comes in and out of a Santee garage.

Store bought coatings and thin one coat systems scratch and wear fast under bikes, kayaks and tool chests. We install a Military Specification (Mil-Spec) coating system with a much heavier build. If you’re comparing installers, these questions are a good place to start.

Mil-Spec coatings meet the standards for hangar floors like the ones at Miramar. At home, that means epoxy garage flooring that shrugs off muddy tires, dropped dumbbells, a dragged kayak and the weekly trip with the trash cans.

Surface Prep Is the Foundation of Epoxy Garage Flooring

A coating is only as strong as its bond to the concrete. Older Santee slabs may have oil stains and settlement cracks, and newer slabs often have a smooth troweled surface or a cure sealer. If either one gets coated without proper prep, the floor will start peeling within a few years.

We diamond grind every slab to a CSP 3 to 5 profile, removing stains, sealers and the weak top layer so the base coat can bond into open concrete. We repair cracks during the same step.

It’s the loudest, dustiest part of the job, and the part that makes the rest of it last.

A Warranty That Represents Quality Work

Santee floors come with the same lifetime adhesion warranty we introduced to the industry in 2005.

Supporting it: more than two decades across San Diego County, California license #1029937, full insurance, an A+ rating with the BBB, and a deep stack of reviews on Facebook, Thumbtack, Google and Yelp.

Beyond the Garage: Reliable Concrete Coating Services

Santee backyards see a lot of sun, and we coat pool decks, patios, walkways and driveways with a urethane polymer system made for outdoor use.

We also install commercial floor coatings in warehouses, shops, gyms, restaurants, breweries, commercial kitchens and locker rooms.

Storage Systems That Bring Order to Your Garage

Outdoor gear takes up a lot of floor space. We design garage storage around the new floor, with ceiling racks for kayaks, coolers and camping bins, wall hooks for bikes, and cabinets for tools and supplies.

Kayak and bike storage usually means MonsterRax or Safe Racks overhead, with Flow Wall cabinets along the walls.

Before, During and After Your Epoxy Garage Flooring Install

Most Santee garages are finished in a day, and a second day stays open if the slab needs more repair. We start by clearing the floor, protecting the walls and door frames, and grinding.

Inspection

Once the slab is ground and repaired, we inspect it, roll on the epoxy base, and broadcast chip over the entire floor. After it sets, the loose chip comes off and a polyaspartic clear coat goes on.

Dry Time

You can walk on the floor in about a day and park on it in about two. Cool nights along the river can slow things a bit, and we’ll tell you exactly when it’s ready.

Next Morning

The next morning, the floor won’t yellow in the sun, and it resists oil, brake fluid and most household chemicals. Hose off mud or mop with mild soap. If you rinse gear in the garage, we can add anti-slip texture to the top coat.
